Bronze Pear Honored by Sculpture Society. Awarded the prestigious Foundry Prize in the National Sculpture Society's 71st annual award Exhibition.

It was on display at the National Sculpture Society's Park Avenue, New York gallery.  Pear appeared with a selection of other distinguished sculptures in society's exhibition entitled Winning Works. It was in the exhibition on view at Brookgreen Gardens on Pawley's Island, South Carolina.

I am particularly fascinated by the sensual, yet simple form the pear represents. In my work, I am attracted to both figurative and abstract forms. For me,  Bronze Pear incorporates both artistic elements.

Originally carved in stone, I saw it as such a beautiful form in nature, I believed it would translate well into bronze. It has been given another life.
